This pages lists notable groups associated with the Brisbane game development or small business space. Many of these groups offer multiple programs, some listed elsewhere on the site. Some of these groups do not offer programs, but provide communities for game developers.
ADVANCE QUEENSLAND
Advance Queensland is an initiative of the Queensland Government that supports innovation, research and entrepreneurship. They aim to assist innovative, science and technology businesses at all stages of development. They also aid researchers in the science and technology fields.

Advance Queensland offers a very wide range of programs. These programs include financing, mentorship, training and networking, amongst many others. There are also specialised programs for underrepresented groups in the entrepreneurship fields, with a particular focus on supporting Indigenous business.

BRISBANE INTERNATIONAL GAME DEVELOPERS ASSOCIATION (BRIGDA)
brIGDA is the Brisbane chapter of the International Game Developer Association. This group organises several events throughout the year to bring the local industry together, most notably GO423 - a yearly showcase of games developed in Brisbane. brIGDA also hosts a major game jam each year.

brIGDA’s social media is a hub for the local industry, with over 2500 members on their Facebook page. Industry events and groups often advertise on the Facebook page, so it’s a good place to find people with similar interests.

SCREEN QUEENSLAND
Screen Queensland is a government-owned company that invests in and supports the Queensland screen industry. They aim to foster Queensland game developers through investment opportunities, support programs and workshops for both the game development process and the business skills needed to run a games studio.

Screen Queensland is strongly connected to the local industry. If they aren’t able to assist you directly, they may be able to help you locate the resources and people you need.

QUT CREATIVE ENTERPRISE AUSTRALIA (QUT CEA)
QUT Creative Enterprise Australia (QUT CEA) is an initiative of the Queensland University of Technology that aims to support creative technology enterprises through providing a broad number of resources. QUT CEA specialises in supporting early-stage companies through accelerators, incubators and co-working spaces. There is also support for more mature companies through their investment opportunities.

QUT CEA also runs a yearly start-up weekend, a 54 hour event where people enter groups to come up with an innovative start-up idea from scratch.
