ADVANCE QUEENSLAND - IGNITE IDEAS FUND

Grant

The Ignite Ideas Funds is a grant of up to $200,000 available to small and medium sized businesses with a project that has reached minimum viable product stage or beyond. This grant is intended to help companies take their project into market for the first time or into new markets.

ADVANCE QUEENSLAND – INNOVATE QUEENSLAND

Support Program

Innovate Queensland is a series of workshops, webinars and collaboration activities intended to help small and medium sized businesses build their commercial skills, knowledge and networks so that they can succeed in the market.

AMP’S TOMORROW FUND

Grant

AMP’s Tomorrow Fund is a grant ranging from $5000 to $100,000 for “amazing Australians doing great things in their communities.” It is open to individuals in any field including art, technology and music. The grant can be used for a range of activities, including travel, equipment, study costs, research and more.

BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL – INNOVATION GRANTS PROGRAM

Grant

The Innovation Grants Program is a grant of up to $30,000 available to Brisbane-based creative enterprises and entrepreneurs. It is intended to advance the development of an innovative product, project, collaboration or business idea that demonstrates exceptional levels of cultural, social and economic outcomes for Brisbane.

EPIC MEGAGRANTS

Grant

Epic MegaGrants is a grant ranging from $5000 to $500,000 available to projects developed in Unreal Engine 4 that have reached prototype stage or beyond. The grant is intended to promote the use of Unreal Engine 4 in a variety of industries – including, but not limited to, games, manufacturing and education. It also provides grants to people working on open-source tools for Unreal Engine 4.

INDEPENDENT GAMES FESTIVAL

Award

The Independent Games Festival is an awards festival that celebrates independent game developers. It occurs at the end of the Game Developers Conference (GDC) and aims to “encourage innovation in game development and to recognize the best independent game developers.”

INDIE FUND

Investment Program

The Indie Fund is an investment syndicate that invests in projects created by independent game developers that have reached prototype stage or beyond. It aims to be an alternative to the traditional publisher model that allows indie developers to become and stay financially independent.

MENTORING FOR GROWTH

Mentorship Program

Mentoring for Growth (M4G) offers eligible businesses access to volunteer business experts who provide insights, options and suggestions relating to challenges and opportunities you are experiencing in your business.

QUT CREATIVE ENTERPRISES AUSTRALIA – COLLIDER ACCELERATOR

Accelerator Program

Collider Accelerator is an intensive three-month program which is designed for Queensland-based creative tech startups with a product that has reached prototype or minimum viable product stage to grow their business. The program involves an intensive start-up program, international immersion experiences, access to co-working spaces and an investment of $30,000.

SCREEN QUEENSLAND - FINANCE FOR GAMES

Investment Program

Screen Queenland’s Finance for Games is an investment of up to $50,000 in a game project that has reached proof-of-concept stage or beyond. This investment is intended to support further development and release of Queensland-based games.

SCREEN QUEENSLAND - SQHUB

Residency Program

sqhub is a 12-month residency program for screen businesses, including game development studios, in their start-up and growth phases. It provides office facilities, business development opportunities and co-working spaces at a low cost.

STUGAN

Accelerator Program

Stugan is an eight-week ‘summer camp’ accelerator for developers with a game in early stages of production. The program brings developers to a cabin in Sweden where they live and work in a space dedicated to creating their games.

THE REFINERY

Incubator Program

The Refinery is a 10-week incubator for creative sector idea-stage projects or companies which is designed to refine, develop, test and action your business ideas. At the end of the program, there is a possibility of receiving a $10,000 investment.

THE WORKING LUNCH

Mentorship Program

The Working Lunch is a mentorship program that supports members of underrepresented groups – women, non-binary people and First Nations people – begin their careers in the game industry. It comprises of one-on-one mentoring with an established industry professional and group workshops.

TRADESTART

Support Program

TradeStart provides practical advice, general information and tailored services to small and medium sized exporters. It aims to assist businesses achieve long term success in international markets.
